Coaching/Unique Accomplishments

Has coached on two conference championship teams (Duke, 1989 and Georgia, 1968).
                                
In 1989, helped Duke to its first conference title since 1962 and first bowl appearance (All-American) since 1960.
                               
Under Wilson, Tampa Bay defense ranked second (1983) and fourth (1984) in the USFL in total defense.
                                
A member of the U.S. Army Infantry in 1967 and 1968 where he served on the Presidential Honor Guard, as well as a tomb guard and relief commander at the Tomb of the
                                
Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetary. Was one of the military guards who buried assassinated presidential candidate Robert Kennedy.
